viennacontemporary 2017 | Nordic Highlights

We are happy to announce that the special Nordic Highlights presentation is happening in its second edition during viennacontemporary this year. Selected galleries from Finland, Denmark, and Sweden present both international art as well as specific positions of the young and established generations from the rich artistic field of the Nordic countries.

Galerie Mikael Andersen (DK)

Galerie Mikael Andersen was established in Copenhagen in 1989 and shows exhibitions of Danish and International contemporary art. The pro le of the gallery relies on some of the most talented artists of the young generation and also includes a number of important Danish and International artists that emerged on the art scene in the eighties and nineties.

Galleri Bo Bjerggaard (DK)

Galleri Bo Bjerggaard was founded in 1999. Initially located in the center of Copenhagen, in 2007 the gallery moved to a larger location in the old Meat Packing District. The gallery has two separate exhibitions spaces, each with 2 or 3 adjoining rooms. The gallery´s layout therefore allows for 2 exhibitions to be presented at the same time. The gallery presents international contemporary art from Europe and America. While its main focus is contemporary painting, the gallery also exhibits sculpture, photography, video and installations. The gallery participates in international art fairs throughout Europe and North America.

Cecilia Hillström Gallery (SE)

Cecilia Hillström Gallery focuses on contemporary art and works closely with a group of established and emerging artists. With a solid platform in Stockholm, the gallery’s goal is to develop the international visibility of its artists through cooperation with galleries outside Sweden as well as by participating in selected art fairs. The gallery was established in 2012 in the gallery district near Vanadisplan in Stockholm.

Gallery Taik Persons (FI)

Gallery Taik Persons was founded in 1995 in Helsinki and is since 2005 located in Berlin. The gallery represents a select group of established and emerging artists. The program is centered around a conceptually rigorous artistic practice with a main focus on the photographic process.  It is the prime gallery for those selected artists who now make up what is known as the Helsinki School. The gallery participates in international art fairs and tours museum exhibitions for its primary artists. Moreover the gallery works actively with independent publishing houses in creating limited edition art books. Organising between seven and eight shows a year, the programme varies between solo- and group exhibitions by the Gallery’s main artists as well as guest artists curated by the gallery.
